Jasmine Rose Oberste is a licensed Acupuncturist and nationally certified
Herbalist practicing in San Francisco and Berkeley. In 1999 she began
studying Tai Ji with Sifu Gene Chen who inspired her to develop a direct
relationship with and understanding of Qi, the bridge between the
un-manifested and the physical. This journey led her to pursue a 4-year
Masters degree in Chinese Medicine.
After graduating in 2004, Jasmine has continued an intensive course of
post-graduate study, including a four-year internship with Dr. Robert Johns,
OMD, LAc, author of “The Art of Acupuncture Techniques” in Berkeley,
California and an internship in 2007 at the Chinese Medicine Department of
the Tzu Chi Buddhist Hospital in Taiwan.
Jasmine treats common complaints of pain and stress related illness as well
as working with many chronic and challenging health problems where Western
medicine offers limited healing, where she finds both herbal medicine and
acupuncture to be especially helpful in these deeply rooted disease
processes to restore the mind and body to a balanced, relaxed and energized
state of health.
Jasmine brings to her work an integrated perspective of complementary
healing modalities. She has completed advanced studies in Pulse Diagnosis
with Brian La Forgia, LAc, a teacher of the Shen-Hammer system based on
the teachings of Dr. John H. F. Shen, and has apprenticed with Liu
Ming studying
the Chinese calendar (*jié qì * 節氣) and seasonal diet therapy.
In addition to her private practice, she has taught comprehensive review
class at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San
Francisco, CA covering theory, diagnosis, acupuncture, single herbs and
herbal formulas and teaches the herb module of California State Board prep
course with TCM Review.
In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, photography, pottery and
playing music.
